Jenene Stafford: Megamorphosis Magazine /jenene-megamorphosis/ Tue, 05 Jun 2018 01:34:01 +0000 /?p=576

Dokimos Graduate (2015) Jenene Stafford sensed the Lord calling her to start a new Christian magazine called Megamorphosis  (www.megamorphosismagazine.com). It began as an online magazine, but recently switched to print with its first paper issue being released in April. The story of this project began a while ago, and it’s been led by God from the beginning. Jenene says, “God told me He wanted me to start the magazine two and a half or three years ago. I literally had Jesus show up in my office, and I saw Him in the spirit. I was in my home office when He appeared to me, and He had a gigantic diamond on His left hand. He raised the hand with the diamond and said, ‘look at this, Jenene. This is my bride, and I am asking you to take the assignment of displaying my bride through a magazine.’ The magazine is the story of the unveiling of the bride. The bride getting ready.”

Jenene gladly accepted the challenge, and she began producing the magazine online. After producing a few issues, she put the magazine aside for nine months to focus on other things. Recently, God began speaking to her again about the next step for this project, “The Lord just all of the sudden said it’s time to bring it back, and 8 weeks later we had the print version.” Transitioning from online to print was not an easy task. Jenene had to research different resources, software, etc, but she put in the work, and the Lord provided for her every step of the way. When Jenene was in need of someone who knew how to use Indesign, the software necessary for producing a magazine in print, God provided. One day, God spoke to her and told her to call Aaron, a web designer she had worked with in the past. She called him, and he was more than willing to help. They sat down and he trained her in one day for 8 hours. Aaron is now a part of a larger team that helps Jenene produce the magazine.

Speaking of the hurdles that need to be overcome in order to produce a paper magazine, Jenene says, “It’s just a walk of faith, and God continues to bring me the people and the resources I need,” she continues, “the whole thing is a Holy Spirit journey. He sends me on a path of who to reach out to and who He wants in the magazine; it’s a complete, 100% day by day walk of faith in the story God wants to tell through the magazine.” When asked what readers can expect from Megamorphosis, Jenene responds, “The main hashtags for the magazine are #shareradicallove and #expectmiracles. That is the voice of the magazine. The Lord had said, ‘if my bride will share radical love, they can expect miracles.’ I want the Lord’s will to be done with the magazine. He prophetically tells me every issue what He wants to put out there. The goal is just to accomplish His will.”

The magazine is really well done and has excellent Kingdom stories and compelling graphics. To learn more visit www.megamorphosismagazine.com. A new issue is released every two months.

Gary Henson & Vinny Atkins: Let’s Take Back Sacramento for Jesus Christ /lets-take-back-sacramento-for-jesus-christ/ Tue, 29 May 2018 17:20:22 +0000 /?p=545

Dokimos graduates Vinnie Atkins (2016) and Gary Henson (2015) have formed a regional Dokimos Prayer Team whose motto is “Take Back Sacramento for Jesus Christ!” They meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month to pray for the region, government, local churches and businesses.

To receive updates, meeting times and locations for the Dokimos Regional Prayer Team, please click here

The group has met mainly in churches, but they are looking to branch out and pray in other influential places, such as government buildings and local businesses. When the Dokimos prayer team meets, their goal is to encourage and empower people to win their neighborhood for Christ. Members of the team understand the importance of leaving something tangible for people to have when they’re gone, so they also leave written encouraging and prophetic words for pastors and congregations. Partnering with this ministry is a wonderful way to activate your spiritual gifts and practice hearing from the Holy Spirit to encourage others.

One of the churches the Dokimos prayer team had the privilege of praying for is pastored by Larry Joyner. He shared a testimony of how encouraging it was to receive a call from the group during a challenging time, “I was called by the ministry during a time in my life where I was having a medical procedure done. They didn’t know that I was going to have anything done, but Jesus had them give me a call to encourage me. They came and prayed, and my procedure went very well. Their visit was wonderful, and my whole congregation was encouraged.” Pastor Joyner’s testimony shows the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit and letting Him guide you to who He would like to encourage, which is the prayer team’s strategy.

The leaders of the Dokimos prayer team understand that spiritual warfare is real, and they love having the opportunity to stand by people and lift them up when they’re going through a difficult time. After praying at Pastor Donna Trumbo’s church, she shared this message, “The Dokimos prayer team has been a tremendous blessing to Life Community Church.  We have been in transition without a Senior Pastor for just over a year. Spirits have been low for both the staff and the congregation. Since the prayer warriors visited our church twice, the dark has been cast out and we feel that the Spirit is back in the house!  Praise God that we have a renewed hope, a greater commitment to persevere and an even greater vision to do our part in kingdom expansion. Thank you for offering your regional support to the local church and for standing united in Christ!”

The prayer team is made up of and led by Dokimos graduates, but all intercessors are welcome to join. Mary Cook has joined the group a few times, and she says this about her experience, “I am so grateful to the Lord for what He is doing in the Sacramento area. The Word says His Church will be called a house of prayer, and it is His timing that the vision of taking back Sacramento for Jesus Christ comes to our local churches now.  What a sign and a wonder for pastors and intercessors to come together in different churches all over this area to pray the Father’s heart into a matter. Without fail, these gatherings carry a special anointing & His Presence fills the room each time as we seek His face and ground is being taken. My hope is for every church to be blessed by this ministry, with His people linking arms together and calling forth God’s promises and plans for us in the Sacramento region.”

An important vision of the Dokimos Prayer Team is to form a bridge between church leaders and marketplace ministers. In order to accomplish this, the goal is to include other spheres of influence by praying for business owners and government officials. This group is unique because it is a ministry that blesses "the church" but does not stem from "a church." Most of the people involved are business people who want to use their gifts to bless others.

Let us know if you would like to have the prayer team come to your church, business or government office. We would love to pray for you!

Johnny Lujan: Equipping an Army of Leather-Clad Believers /johnny-lujan-equipping-an-army-of-leather-clad-believers/ Fri, 25 May 2018 20:29:35 +0000 /?p=521

Dokimos Project graduate (2016) Johnny Lujan is the pastor of Thunder Road Biker Church. He started the church in April of 2010. The church reaches a demographic of people that usually incurs drug addiction, alcohol abuse, violence, incarceration and a lifestyle few encounter or ever get free of. Thunder Road Church is a safe and inviting place where people of this lifestyle have been healed by the blood of the Savior. Johnny says, “It’s a welcoming home where others look like them, smell like them. Leathers and jeans are the normal church clothes. It’s a place where tattoos tell stories of overcoming hurts, sorrows and heartaches and are not looked upon as evil, but as redemptive conversation pieces. The liabilities of our past have now become the assets for our future. We love each and every person who walks in the door equally where they are. We do not focus on their past, but on their possibilities and not on their prior convictions, but on the creation of their new story. Amen!”

The church leaders sense a calling to expand Thunder Road church to the 80 corridor, around the Rocklin/Roseville area. They plan on launching one Sunday evening a month to start and see how the Lord will expand their territories. There is a strong feeling for the need to create a template of sorts where, in the future, Thunder Road Church can be launched in other cities, regions and states to create a safe and inviting place to all Bikers. Johnny says, “We are about creating an Army of leather-clad believers whose convictions and testimonies are so powerful that the gates of Hades will tremble at the roar of their pipes and the presence of Lord to take back Sacramento for Jesus Christ! We want to see the enemy flee and the doors open for the Gospel to take hold! Amen!”

Be in prayer for the expansion of Thunder Road Biker Church-- for financial provision, a place to hold services, and the Lord’s favor to go before them. For more info, visit: www.thunderroadchurch.com

Irina Shevchenko: Prayer meetings at home with God’s perfect timing /irina-shevchenko-prayer-meetings-at-home-with-gods-perfect-timing/ Fri, 25 May 2018 20:28:47 +0000 /?p=519

Dokimos Project graduate (2014) Irina Shevchenko has a heart for intercession. She has been praying with women from her community for years, and they have seen breakthrough in many aspects of their lives. Irina says, “I have been having prayer meetings at my house every Thursday for the past 5 years. A few women come over and we intercede for our families, kids, and needs that we have. We have seen answers, but we are still praying and believing for some things that are on our hearts. God’s timing is perfect, and we will continue to lift these things up to Him” We love Irina’s faithfulness to pray and intercede for the needs of her community, and we are excited to hear more stories about answered prayers in the future.

Wild About Friends

Dokimos graduate (2014) Lorraine Loria has written her third children’s book. She wrote her first book, Wild About Manners, in 2013, and she is very excited for the release of the sequel, Wild About Friends, in the summer! Lorraine says, “Wild About Friends is a fun and fast-paced story about a boy named Sam and his school friends as they prepare for a very special night. All through Sam’s busy day, he imagines how each friend can help him prepare for the big event. All Sam’s friends are helpful in their own unique way. The surprise ending is sure to make both readers and listeners smile!” Lorraine came up with the concept for the story with her cousin, Bonnie Spino, who is also the illustrator. Julia Kalyuzhnyy: Singing Meadows and Happy Days /singing-meadows-happy-days/ Fri, 25 May 2018 16:47:00 +0000 /?p=563
Singing Meadows and Happy Days

Dokimos graduate (2014) Julia Kalyuzhnyy has written her first children’s book called Singing Meadows and Happy Days: A Fun Fable for Friends. Julia wrote the book one night when she received a download from the Holy Spirit. She explains, “It was cool because the story just came to me in the middle of the night. I woke up at three in the morning, words started coming, and half an hour later I read it and it was a little story.” A week before a group from her church left for Mexico on a mission trip, Julia was invited to join. She felt led to go, and while she was making her plans, she asked her pastor if he thought it would be a good idea to bring copies of her book. The pastor said that it would mean a lot to the children to receive a book directly from the author herself. During her trip to Mexico, Julia says that she was given a supernatural ability to speak with the children, “I only had Spanish 1 ten years ago, and then again 5 years ago, but for some reason I was able to share the testimony of the story with the children. I was able to witness to them, pray with them, and encourage them all in Spanish.” She says that she wasn’t necessarily given new Spanish words, but that God brought all the words she was exposed to in school back to her mind and helped her use them to form sentences. Julia used her book and her Spanish to explain an important message to the children she was ministering to, “In Mexico, I told the children that I’m not an author, and I’m not really great at this stuff, but this book is a symbol of God’s power, and it’s a miracle in my life. I told them that I was giving it to them as a symbol. I wanted them to know that God can work in them, too.” Julia gives glory to God for working through her in this project, “It’s just a symbol of God’s grace and of Him calling us to places and asking us to do things that we never thought we’d be able to do.”

Terri Arana: Listening to the Guidance of the Holy Spirit /terri-arana-listening-to-the-guidance-of-the-holy-spirit/ Mon, 14 May 2018 19:47:47 +0000 /?p=517
Terri

Dokimos Project graduate (2016) Terri Arana understands what God has called her to in this time. She says, “My assignment is to love people that most would pass by! The Holy Spirit gives me words to say and subjects to bring up in conversation. Sometimes He wants me to just give hugs, but most of the time He asks me to pray with people.” Terri recently gave us an example of what this looks like in her everyday life. One day, she was walking to her car when she heard a female shouting for help. Terri did not know where the shouting was coming from, but the Holy Spirit told her where to go. When she found the woman who was shouting, Terri learned that a man attempted to assault her. Two other men came to her rescue, but the situation was quickly becoming violent. Terri says, “The Lord sent me to the neighbor’s fence just big enough for me to see what was happening. I asked the Lord what He wanted me to do. Now, being a retired Peace officer, I have been in many fights before and handled these situations with yelling and cursing -- the old man. The Holy Spirit said, ‘say my name!’” Terri obeyed and began to speak the name of Jesus over the situation. She continues, “All of a sudden, with an authoritative voice, I spoke out God’s Truth and claimed them all for Christ Jesus. I cancelled the plans of the enemy in Jesus’ name! Miraculously, the dust settled, and there was peace. Praise God Almighty King Jesus! Amen! Hallelujah! No one was hurt in this Glory Story, not even the perpetrator!” If we take time to listen to what God is saying, and if we follow His direction, He will use us in many ways to spread His love and bring peace.

What Does a Commissioning Ceremony Look Like? /commissioning/ Sun, 22 Jan 2017 22:53:20 +0000 /?p=319 Graduates of the Dokimos Project are honored in a Commissioning Ceremony. Each participant works on developing a “persona statement” during the 12-week intensive spiritual gym process, then boldly reads it in front of their group at the Commissioning Ceremony. It is a powerful process that results in increased freedom, renewed passion and clarified purpose. The persona statement is the main tool that our spiritual gym trainers use to assess proficiency in the following areas.

  • A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and hearing his voice in daily affairs.
  • A powerful identity statement that does not mention roles, responsibilities or relationships. Identity is who are you when no one is around? Who are you on an island all by yourself?
  • A journey of hope and healing that overcomes the hurts in life.
  • Awareness of spiritual authority and personal temperament using the “Redemptive Gifts” and “Motivational Gifts” models.
  • Completing a spiritual cleansing process.
  • Proclaiming the call of God for this season of life.

Each person is uniquely designed by God and we celebrate this diversity. It is our aim to have each person honored and assisted so that they walk out that which is highest and best in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We hope you will join us, get equipped, and be one of our growing community of graduates!

The following video is a commissioning ceremony that took place in Sacramento. We’d like to give a big thank you to Victor Jenkins of Crave the Spotlight Media Marketing (www.cravethespotlight.com) for capturing the essence of one of these special ceremonies on video!

Helpful Resource – Proclamation When Offended by Criticism /helpful-resource-proclamation-when-offended-by-criticism/ Tue, 27 Sep 2016 14:53:46 +0000 /?p=281 This proclamation of truth is not a prayer necessarily. The point of a proclamation is to let your spirit speak truth to your soul. Have you ever had a conversation in your own mind? It’s like the classic cartoon with the devil and the angel on the shoulders of the character telling two different points of view. Proclamations of truth strengthen our spirit and tell our soul what it needs to hear in order to walk in freedom. This breaks the chains of deception that the soul is prone to believe. We encourage you to write your own proclamation of truth.
